Anurag University
Anurag University is a state private university located in Venkatapur, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Established in 2020 under the Telangana State Private Universities Act, it was one of the first private universities in the state.[^c1][^c2] The university evolved from the Anurag Group of Institutions, which itself grew out of educational institutions founded since the late 1990s under the Gayathri Educational and Cultural Trust (GECT), established in 1982.[^c3] The institution offers 15 undergraduate, 10 postgraduate, and 9 doctoral programmes across six schools: Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Medical Sciences, and Liberal Arts.[^c4]
The university is spread across a campus of over 100 acres in the eastern part of Hyderabad, with academic blocks, research laboratories, a central library housing over 100,000 volumes, sports facilities, and separate hostel accommodation for men and women. It serves more than 15,000 students with over 500 faculty members.[^c9]
Anurag University is accredited with an A grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and its engineering and pharmacy programmes are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in Tier-I.[^c5] In the NIRF rankings, the university ranked 71 in the Pharmacy category in 2024.[^c6] Other recognitions include approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and inclusion under sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act.
The university maintains a strong placement record, reporting a 97% placement rate for the 2026 graduating batch, with a highest package of ₹53 LPA and an average CTC of ₹6.5 LPA.[^c7][^c8] Major recruiters include Microsoft, Amazon, JP Morgan Chase and Co., TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, and Infosys. Anurag University also has an active research ecosystem, with funded research centres, patent filings exceeding 100 annually, and participation in the national 75 Students' Satellites Consortium for the AnuragSAT project.
