Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Integration
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a set of complementary cloud services that enable you to build and run a range of applications and services in a highly available hosted environment[^c1]. At the center of its data platform sits OCI Data Integration, a fully managed, multi-tenant service that helps data engineers and ETL developers accelerate data science and analytics projects with a no-code data flow designer for configuring integration parameters and automating data mappings[^c2].
OCI Data Integration provides a structured workflow for building integration solutions. Users register data assets to identify the source and target data sources to use[^c3], design data flows and pipelines with a visual operator canvas, create tasks such as data loader, integration, SQL, and OCI Data Flow tasks, and publish tasks to applications for testing and production[^c4]. The service runs on a serverless, workspace-based architecture in which each workspace is isolated on its own reserved compute instance and data flow processing is performed on Apache Spark clusters, with optional pushdown of transformation logic to relational databases.
The service is integrated with various Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services and features[^c5], most notably Object Storage for staging and storage, Autonomous Database for warehouse and lake targets, and IAM and Vault for security. It is one component of a broader OCI integration portfolio that also includes Oracle Integration for application connectivity and process automation, GoldenGate for real-time replication, Streaming for Kafka-compatible event streams, and Oracle Data Integrator for on-premises-oriented ETL[^c10]. It supports both ETL and ELT patterns and is used to build data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures across OCI[^c6].
