Wikova
The name "Wikova" and its variant "Wikov" appear as designations for two unrelated entities: the Russian actress Ekaterina Vilkova, whose surname is occasionally romanized as "Wikova," and the Czech industrial engineering group Wikov, whose name derives from the surnames of its founders Wichterle and Kovářík.
The Czech engineering group Wikov traces its roots to the firm Wichterle & Kovářík, founded in 1918, which became the largest Czechoslovak manufacturer of agricultural machinery. After nationalization and later restructuring, the modern group emerged in 2002 and expanded through acquisitions of ČKD Hronov, Škoda Gear, and German firm Gmeinder Getriebetechnik. In 2024, the group acquired the Litostroj Group, a world-leading manufacturer of hydro turbines, forming a dedicated Hydro Division alongside its traditional Gear Division. The group is owned by Martin Wichterle, great-grandson of co-founder Karel Wichterle, and now manufactures industrial gearboxes and hydropower solutions for customers worldwide.
The Russian actress Ekaterina Vilkova (romanized as "Wikova" from the Chinese transcription of her surname) is known for her film roles including Black Lightning, Stilyagi, and The Last Bogatyr, as well as the television series Advokaty (2026).
