Guidewire Software
Guidewire Software is an American technology company that provides an industry platform for property and casualty (P&C) insurance carriers worldwide.[^c1] Headquartered in San Mateo, California, the company serves over 570 insurers in 43 countries that collectively represent approximately 25% of the global direct written premium in the P&C insurance market.[^c6][^c2] Founded in 2001, Guidewire has grown from a startup focused on replacing legacy mainframe systems to the dominant vendor in the P&C core systems market, with over 1,700 successful implementations and 28,000 trained consultants worldwide.[^c4][^c5]
The company's core InsuranceSuite comprises three products — ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, and BillingCenter — each managing a major component of an insurer's operations. These are supplemented by InsuranceNow for regional and mid-market insurers, the Guidewire Data Platform for analytics, UnderwritingCenter and PricingCenter (introduced in the Olos release), ProNavigator for AI-powered guidance,[^c9] and the Guidewire Marketplace for third-party integrations.
Since 2020, Guidewire has been transitioning its customer base from on-premises deployments to Guidewire Cloud, a purpose-built SaaS platform hosted on Amazon Web Services. The Olos release (December 2025) introduced PricingCenter, the Underwriting Assistant, and the Guidewire GenAI Service and Agentic Framework for building and governing autonomous AI agents.[^c10] The Palisades release (April 2026) launched ProNavigator, a generative AI assistant embedded in InsuranceSuite and InsuranceNow workflows.[^c9] Agentic AI capabilities — which independently triage submissions, verify data, and execute workflows in PolicyCenter and UnderwritingCenter — represent a shift from passive document-summarization chatbots toward autonomous insurance process automation.
By the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, annual recurring revenue (ARR) had reached $1.147 billion, with total quarterly revenue of $372.5 million representing 27% year-over-year growth, and subscription and support revenue reaching $245 million (66% of total revenue).[^c7][^c8][^c17] The company raised its full-year fiscal 2026 outlook, projecting total revenue between $1.460 billion and $1.470 billion and operating cash flow between $365 million and $380 million.[^c18][^c19] Guidewire closed 11 cloud deals in the quarter, including two net-new core system wins with Bradesco Seguros in Brazil and a seven-year expansion with Auto Club of Southern California.[^c20] Revenue grew 62% from $742.3 million in fiscal year 2020 to $1.202 billion in fiscal year 2025, while global headcount rose from 2,690 to 3,772 over the same period.[^c15][^c16] Guidewire is executing an international expansion strategy, investing $60 million over five years to grow its Japan operations,[^c11] building its India engineering hub from 100 to more than 700 employees,[^c14] and signing landmark cloud deals including Santam in South Africa[^c12] and Bradesco Seguros in Brazil.[^c13] More than 100 customers have gone live on Guidewire Cloud. The company targets over 90% of total ARR from cloud subscriptions by fiscal year 2028.
