Anurag University
Anurag University is a private state university located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.[^c1] Established in 2020 under the Telangana Private Universities Act, it traces its origins to the Gayathri Educational and Cultural Trust, founded in 1982 (see [[history/founding|Founding]] for full history). The university has grown from 180 students at its founding in 2002 to over 16,000 students, with more than 500 faculty members and a network of over 35,000 alumni.[^c21][^c4][^c5] The university is approved by AICTE and UGC, holds NAAC 'A' Grade accreditation, and has NBA Tier-1 accreditation for its engineering and pharmacy programs.[^c9] It has been consistently featured in the NIRF rankings across disciplines for the past five years, ranked in the top 150 in the NIRF engineering category.[^c10]
The university has recorded strong placement growth, with over 10,000 job offers since 2021.[^c15] In the 2025–2026 placement season, the university achieved a 97% placement rate with 2,100+ job offers, 920+ internships, and a highest salary package of ₹53 lakhs per annum.[^c6][^c7][^c8][^c14] The university disbursed over ₹18 crores in scholarships annually.[^c13] Anurag University has established an international partnership with Arizona State University through the ASU-Cintana Alliance and became Telangana's first educational institution to build a satellite through the [[AnuragSAT]] student project.[^c11] In June 2026, the university launched an industry-aligned MBA in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) in collaboration with KPMG in India.[^c19] Student teams won the World CanSat and Rocketry Championship in Portugal, published research in Nature India,[^c18] and won India's first QNX Everywhere Hackathon in Hyderabad.[^c22] The university maintains 25+ research centres, has received research grants totalling ₹147 lakhs, and operates a DST-funded laboratory.[^c16][^c17] A 150 kW grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic system was inaugurated on campus in April 2025 as part of ongoing sustainability initiatives.[^c20]
