Yardstick Educational Initiatives
Yardstick Educational Initiatives is an Indian education company that designs and supplies experiential learning programmes, activity kits and assessment tools to private schools. Founded in Hyderabad in April 2008[^c1], it built its business around hands-on science and mathematics instruction and later expanded into computer science, virtual laboratories and digital learning platforms. Its stated vision is to make learning an enriching and joyful experience[^c2], and it describes its product range as learning kits, coding courses, virtual labs, an assessment suite and school management services[^c3].
The company's flagship offering, the Yardstick Experiential Learning Programme, packages physical activity kits with teacher training, lesson plans and assessment. Yardstick grew from a single Hyderabad school partnership in 2008 to a substantial presence among Indian-curriculum schools in the Gulf, anchored by a 2012 agreement with Delhi Public School Dubai[^c4]. It maintains offices and entities in India, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States, and reports a reach of 11 countries, more than 500 schools and 750,000 learners[^c5].
Yardstick's history is closely tied to its co-founder and chief executive, De Paul Kannamthanam, who has described the founders' work in STEM education as beginning in 2008 with learning kits for schools in India and the Middle East[^c6]. The company's computer-science curriculum was later developed into Qubits Learning, a separate Dubai-based venture founded in 2021 that reported serving more than 300 schools and 300,000 students across 14 countries[^c7] before acquiring the US curriculum provider Ellipsis Education in 2025.
